Voici une jolie petite maquette au 1/48 de chez CLASSIC AIRFRAME qui représente le premier avion de chasse à équiper les Staffeln de la LUFTWAFFE renaissante après l’armistice, mettant fin aux combats de la 1ère guerre mondiale de l’entre deux guerres. Mais c’est aussi l’occasion de vous présenter ma technique de l’utilisation du fil de pêche dans le haubanage et autres fils d’antennes, comme je l’ai promis à notre nouveau maquettiste re-débutant, tout en sachant qu’il existe autant de techniques qu’il y a de maquettistes.. Quelle qu’en soit l’échelle, la réalisation d’un bi-plan est un challenge à cause de ces foutus haubans qu’ils soient d’aile ou de cabane, sans lesquels la maquette perd tout son caractère… La technique sera légèrement différente en fonction de l’échelle et de la conception du kit… Here is a nice 1/48 model of CLASSIC AIRFRAME which represents the first fighter aircraft to equip the Staffeln of the LUFTWAFFE reborn after the armistice, ending the fighting of the first world war between two wars. But it is also an opportunity to present my technique of the use of fishing wire in the guying and other antenna wires, as I promised to our new model maker re-beginner, knowing that there are as many techniques as there are model makers.. MATERIEL : du fil de pêche 0,8” ou autre selon l’échelle, de la colle cyano et des forêts à main. Pour une maquette où les 2 ailes, sup. et inf. sont divisées en 2 : le fonctionnement est similaire quand les ailes inférieures sont présentées en 3 parties . MATERIAL: fishing line 0.8” or other depending on scale, cyano glue and hand forests. For a model where the 2 wings, sup. and inf. are divided into 2: the operation is similar when the lower wings are presented in 3 parts .
APRES PEINTURE … Si… Si j’insiste… ! du dessus de l’aile inf. et du dessous de l’aile sup. !!! repérez l’emplacement de chaque hauban sur le dessus de l’aile inf. et sur le dessous de l’aile sup. et sur le capot moteur sans oublier ceux entre les mats dans le sens du vol, percez les trous, à la main, au pied ou en léger décalage de chaque mat et y coller une bonne longueur de fil sur sa face intérieure, puis collez ensemble les deux (ou 3 selon) parties de l’aile inf. idem pour les fils sur capot de moteur, sans se brêler dans les fils qui trainent un peu partout… je sais c’est pas marrant…AFTER PAINTING … If… If I insist…! from the top of the inf. wing and from the bottom of the sup. wing!! Locate the location of each shroud on the top of the inf wing and on the underside of the sup wing. and on the engine hood without forgetting those between the masts in the direction of flight, drill the holes, by hand, foot or slightly offset of each mast and stick a good length of wire on its inner face, then glue together the two (or 3 according to) parts of the wing inf. ditto for the wires on the engine hood, without burning in the wires that hang everywhere… I know it’s not funny…
ACHTUNG… ! le train d’atterrissage est souvent aussi haubané, procédez de même que pour la partie inférieure correspondante de l’aile, à ce stade, la peinture peut attendre… Puis montez la maquette comme s’il s’agissait d’un vulgaire monoplan peinture itou……et collez les mats en place, attention aux angles…!!! placez et collez le dessous de l’aile sup. sur ses mats correspondants, une fois solidifié, collez les fils, à la cyano, bien à plat en les tendant bien avec 1cm en surplus, et coupez l’excédent de fil puis recouvrir le tout avec le dessus de l’aile supérieure… Et voilà, invisibilité, solidité et rigidité de votre bi-plan assurées ! Pour les ailes d’une seule pièce (Ech 1/72 et kit résine) percez de part en part en ayant soin de bien masquer les entrées et sorties des fils après collage… pas GLOP..! Pour les antennes, idem percez les trous, pour les fixations sur les bords d’attaque ; il est possible de confectionner un petit anneau collé au ras, y coller le fils et écraser l’anneau pour simuler le point d’ancrage. Attention au collage des mats d’antenne toujours délicats au moment de la tension. Les isolateurs peuvent être faits d’une gouttelette de colle ou de maskol…

ACHTUNG…! the landing gear is often as cable-stayed, proceed as for the corresponding lower part of the wing, at this stage the paint can wait… Then mount the model as if it were a vulgar monoplane paint itou……and stick the masts in place, watch the corners…!! place and glue the underside of the wing sup. on its corresponding masts, once solidified, stick the wires, with cyano, flat while stretching them well with 1cm in surplus, and cut the excess wire then cover everything with the top of the upper wing… And voila, invisibility, solidity and rigidity of your bi-plan assured! For the wings of a single piece (Ech 1/72 and resin kit) drill through, taking care to mask the inputs and outputs of the wires after gluing… not GLOP..! For the antennas, ditto drill the holes, for the fasteners on the leading edges; it is possible to make a small ring glued flush, stick the wire and crush the ring to simulate the anchor point. Beware of sticking antenna masts always delicate at the time of tension. Insulators can be made of a drop of glue or maskol…
