Consacré comme bombardier torpilleur au sein de la RAF au début de la Guerre, le « Beaufort » supporta de lourdes pertes lors des attaques sur les ports et installations Françaises. Brest, St Nazaire, Lorient et les ports de la Manche étaient des objectifs fréquents. Il fallait un sacré courage pour affronter la Flak en rase-motte et de nuit à la vitesse adéquate pour lancer la torpille. La maquette ICM au 48° est une bonne base mais souffre d’un manque de détails pourtant visibles! Donc planche Eduard pour l’intérieur et pour les ceintures, et bien sur les incontournables masques kabuki pour les importantes parties vitrées. Le L9878 du 217° Squadron resta opérationnel jusqu’à son retrait en Mai 43. La couverture du n° 50 de Warpaint Serie m’a servi de guide pour l’aspect huileux et sale qui sied à merveille au camouflage Dark Slate Grey/Extra dark sea grey /Black. Bon bout d’an à tous et mort aux cons!

Consecrated as a torpedo bomber in the RAF at the beginning of the war, the «Beaufort» sustained heavy losses during attacks on French ports and installations. Brest, St Nazaire, Lorient and the Channel ports were frequent targets. It took a lot of courage to face the Flak at night at the right speed to launch the torpedo. The 48° ICM model is a good base but suffers from a lack of visible details! So Eduard board for the interior and for the belts, and of course the essential kabuki masks for the important glazed parts. The 217° Squadron L9878 remained operational until its withdrawal in May 43. The cover of the Warpaint Serie No. 50 was my guide for the oily and dirty look that fits perfectly with the Dark Slate Grey/Extra dark sea grey/Black camouflage. Good year to all and dead to the assholes!
