PESSAC 2026

Ah ! The Bordeaux region and its exhibitions, which we really appreciate! Unable to make two trips in 15 days, Saint LOUBES and PESSAC, we initially chose Saint LOUBES.  Saint LOUBES couldn’t make it, like the cicada in the fable, so we came back knocking at the door of IPMS BORDEAUX. A stroke of luck, just a withdrawal quickly replaced by CAMPI. For so-called distant trips, it’s a little bit always the same. A period of exaltation to booking months in advance and at the time of departure, the route, the price of fuel, etc….

Enfin bref ! Anyway! We arrived at PESSAC on Friday. This same Friday when we receive an email from the organization specifying the difficulties of access to the room with the organization, right next door, of the « Vibrations Urbaines » party at the nearby skate park. Small concern. Ultimately, we will arrive in front of the room without any hitch and without any difficulty in unloading. My brother-in-law Guy, our Landais member of CAMPI, is already waiting for us on site. Quick installation on a 5 m stand of the Japanese fleet.

We meet up with friends and get to know some Spanish modelers, who are very nice indeed. The Bellegrave Room is a very large, beautiful multipurpose room with air conditioning as well. It’s full as an egg.

All beautiful things, any theme, any era, any genre. On Saturday for lunch, meal planned by the organization at the food truck, grilled meats and fries, pastry, a success. The afternoon goes by quickly, between photo sessions, palaver discussions, and requests for information about my dioramas (main topic: « do you sail with resin? » « no, it’s polystyrene and Q paper, » which always provokes surprise). At 5:30 p.m., the room closes. A very successful evening. On Sunday morning, opening at 10 a.m. (Madam enjoyed it). Free croissant coffee; oh no, no croissant on Sunday morning but chocolatines, no luck, I wanted a chocolate bun. Midi is coming up fast. A nice aperitif in the open air (it’s hot, too hot for Bretons, 31 degrees).

Meal at the same food truck, (the Dordogne cod and the bizarre Tiramisu will not be as popular as the previous day). A nice afternoon. Outside, it’s a 31-degree furnace. The clash between the skate park animation with a supercharged columnist who screams all day long at the microphone (fortunately the neighbors are calm, it’s the big PESSAC cemetery) and the calm of the air-conditioned room. The public is there and curious, it’s a pleasure. I even meet a young visitor who knows everything about the Japanese fleet, incredible! and the exhibition closes at 5:30 p.m., Repacking poses no problem. Goodbye to the organizers and off to the great west with a stopover for the night in the family at Fontenay-le-Comte. In short! A great success, very nice organizers and exhibitors. A beautiful exhibition, bravo! Next week, the photo gallery.
