Pour ceux qui connaissent notre stand en expo, vous n’êtes pas sans savoir que mon fils William est accroc de kits fantastiques. Il en possède une très belle collection faites et de modèles montés, et de très nombreuses boîtes à faire. For those who know our booth at the exhibition, you are not unaware that my son William is addicted to fantastic kits. He has a very nice collection of made and mounted models, and many boxes to make.

Au siècle dernier, on a connu l’âge d’or de ces kits, qui sortaient à profusion, sans se douter qu’aujourd’hui elles seraient introuvables et devenues de véritables collectors. Que de nombreux kits sont sortis ! Nous en avons vu passer entre nos mains et fait monter à tour de bras par nos juniors, les scénettes de films fantastiques, les personnages des Simpson par Heller, même les chanteurs Kiss et Beatles mis en figurines, etc… Dans ces marques emblématiques, on peut citer POLAR LIGHTS, MOEBIUS, etc, introuvables maintenant chez nous. On en trouve aux US avec des frais de port exorbitants sans oublier le matraquage de la douane, géré par la POSTE, qui vous plombe en plus de leurs frais de dossier ?????? In the last century, we knew the golden age of these kits, which came out in abundance, without suspecting that today they would be undiscoverable and become true collectors. That many kits have been released! We have seen them pass through our hands and have had our juniors take turns bringing up scenes from fantasy films, the characters from The Simpsons by Heller, even the singers Kiss and Beatles put up as figurines, etc… In these iconic brands, we can mention POLAR LIGHTS, MOEBIUS, etc., which are now unavailable here. You find them in the US with exorbitant shipping costs, not to mention the rampant customs work, managed by the POST OFFICE, which is killing you on top of their processing fees??????

Dans ces collectors, William avait attaqué la belle BATMOBILE au 1/25, inspirée de la série « Batman et Robin » de 1966 que moi même, je n’ai pas connu (serai-je encore jeune ? ). In these collectors, William had attacked the beautiful BATMOBILE at 1/25, inspired by the series « Batman and Robin » from 1966 that I myself did not know (will I still be young?).

Le kit contient un peu plus d’une centaine de pièces. On y retrouve la date de sortie 2002 et bien évidemment « fabriqué en Chine ». William a fait le montage, n’étant pas équipé pour peindre la carrosserie, Papa a proposé son aide et le kit a fini dans ma réserve où il a été oublié pendant de très très longues semaines (comme je le répète souvent à ma charmante épouse : « oui, je sais que c’est à faire et ce n’est pas la peine de me le rappeler tous les 3 mois »). Bossant actuellement sur le très beau kit HASEGAWA de l’IJN HYRIU au 350, comme vous me connaissez, devant ce chantier interminable, j’ai eu envie d »une pause. Et j’ai ressorti cette BATMOBILE au profil bien sympathique. J’ai commencé par un bon décapage de la carrosserie, une nuit arrosée (le kit, pas moi) au décape four et placée dans un sac plastique fermé. Puis peinture en noir brillant. Les phares étant collés, j’ai tout peint en noir. Sur internet, on trouve instantanément les images d’époque de Batman et Robin dans leurs costumes aux couleurs chatoyantes et mode des années 60, il n’a pas été difficile de les peindre (tout cela dans une finition from in the box et non, style grand figuriniste, talent que je suis bien loin d’avoir). A noter que j’ai fait subir le supplice du pal à ces deux personnages pour une manipulation facile et planté pour séchage dans un bloc de mousse. J’ai voulu les vernir en satin, ça m’a fait du brillant, donc le tout revernis en mat. The kit contains a little more than a hundred pieces. It includes the release date of 2002 and, of course, « made in China. » William did the assembly, not being equipped to paint the bodywork, Dad offered his help and the kit ended up in my storage where it was forgotten for very, very long weeks. (As I often repeat to my lovely wife: « yes, I know it’s worth doing and there’s no need to remind me every 3 months »). Currently working on the very beautiful HASEGAWA kit from the IJN HYRIU at 350, as you know me, in front of this endless construction site, I felt like taking a break. And I brought out this BATMOBILE with a very nice profile. I started with a good stripping of the bodywork, a night watered (the kit, not me) to the oven stripper and placed in a closed plastic bag. Then paint in glossy black. The headlights being stuck together, I painted everything black. On the internet, you can instantly find vintage images of Batman and Robin in their costumes with shimmering colors and 60s fashion; it was not difficult to paint them. (all this in a finish from in the box and not, great figurinist style, talent that I am very far from having). Please note that I subjected these two characters to a slap-pull for easy handling and planted them in a block of foam to dry. I wanted to varnish them in satin, it made me shiny, so everything is repolished in matte.

J’ai démonté quelques pièces dont le très beau gyrophare moulé en plastique transparent rouge relativement facile à peindre. A noter dans l’habitable : un extincteur que j’ai peint en rouge et … un téléphone à cadran et à fil d’époque. J’ai peint ce dernier en bleu avec le cadran blanc pour qu’il ressorte dans cet habitacle tout noir. J’ai repris les feux, après pose de caches, en argent, puis une fois bien sec, en peinture jaune translucide. Résultat potable. On approche de la fin et là, grosse difficulté pour encliqueter la carrosserie sur le châssis, après une lutte acharnée, je pète les roues arrières ! Résultat : Batman 1, Alpers 0 ! Un peu de chirurgie et le tout rentre dans l’ordre. Les deux pare-brise : j’ai pris le soin de peindre l’encadrement en noir brillant comme la carrosserie pour me rendre compte qu’en fin de compte, c’est en argent. Et oui ! Il me faudrait une autre vie pour être parfait. I dismantled a few parts, including the very beautiful rotating beacon molded from transparent red plastic, which is relatively easy to paint. To note in the habitable: a fire extinguisher that I painted red and … a vintage dial and wire phone. I painted this one in blue with the white dial so that it stands out in this black cabin. I took up fire again, after installing caches, in silver, then once well dry, in translucent yellow paint. The result is drinkable. We’re nearing the end and now, it’s a big challenge to snap the body onto the chassis; after a fierce fight, I’m tearing out the back wheels! Result: Batman 1, Alpers 0! A bit of surgery and everything is back to normal. The two windshields: I took care to paint the frame in shiny black like the bodywork to realize that ultimately, it’s made of silver. And yes! I would need another life to be perfect.

Bon ! Bin ! Voilà ! J’arrête. Le résultat est très sympa. Elle aurait été du plus bel effet dans ma collection. Quoi ? Comment ? « tu vas rendre sa maquette à ton fils, tu en a déjà beaucoup trop ! ». « Mais voyons, mimine, pourquoi tant de haine ? »… Bref, cette pause m’a procuré un grand plaisir, aussi bien de chercher les belles photos de cette vieille série sur le net que de finir de monter ce kit. A voir, dans les prochains salons sur le stand de William et à CAMPI  EXPO 2026. Good! Bin! There you go! I’m done. The result is very nice. It would have made the most beautiful effect on my collection. What? How? « You’re going to give your son his model, you already have way too many! ». « But come on, mimine, why so much hatred? »… In short, this break gave me a great pleasure, as much to look for the beautiful photos of this old series on the net as to finish assembling this kit. To be seen at the next trade shows on William’s stand and at CAMPI EXPO 2026.
