Coucou les amis ! Un joli B17 pour me remettre de mon Galion Black Swan  !!  Hello friends! A nice B17 to give me back my Black Swan Galleon!! 

Un petit mot sur le B-17 Flying Fortress, B pour Boeing,  qui a été conçu en 1935 ; premier vol en 1935 et mis en service en 1938. Surnommé la forteresse volante, l’un des bombardiers les plus connus de la seconde Guerre Mondiale ! Je vous joins le lien qui vous permettra de mieux le connaitre ! Mon démarrage a été cocasse ! et oui, même si je pensais que ce serais plus facile que mon galion, j’ai commencé par mettre mon apprêt : Premier pot de peinture blanche, devenue de la pâte => poubelle. Je prends le 2ème pot, je dilue, mon aérographe est prêt, je démarre et là, je le bouche !! après moultes essais, rien à faire, la peinture n’était pas suffisamment diluée et m’a bouché complètement l’aérographe ! Démontage complet de l’aérographe, nettoyage à l’aide de tous les solvants à ma disposition, bref, j’ai commencé ma maquette en faisant un nettoyage en bonne et due forme et cela a payé !! Quel plaisir d’utiliser un aérographe qui fonctionne !!  de voir cette première couche d’effet mouillé sur mon B17!! ça y est, c’est parti !! Après avoir peint l’équipage ( par plaisir, car je sais qu’on ne les verra quasiment pas),  j’ai commencé mon assemblage et collage… Et là, la galère a commencé… Tout s’est bien passé jusqu’à ce que j’essaye d’assembler les 2 parties de l’avion .. Impossible d’arriver à les joindre correctement au niveau de la carlingue.. Un espace dû très certainement à un mauvais assemblage des pièces assemblées au niveau de la cabine. Pourtant le reste allait bien… Je n’ai pas voulu redécoller les pièces de peur de les casser,  alors j’ai tout de même poursuivi en scotchant les 2 parties pour les maintenir au plus près et en maintenant avec des serres joints.. Pas terrible quand on regarde de près !! Après le « déscotchage’ …. Il restait, bien sûr, les espaces non collés sur la carlingue.. Donc, je me suis dit, soyons fou ! On va essayer de rattraper avec le super mastic !! Et me voilà à tartiner  en essayant de colmater les espaces dessus et dessous ! Ponçage au plus juste  ! Bon, le résultat n’est pas franchement satisfaisant !!  Je poursuis quand même ! Même si je me dis que je ne monterai jamais dans cette avion  !! My start was funny! and yes, even if I thought it would be easier than my galleon, I started by putting my primer: First pot of white paint, turned into paste => garbage. I take the 2nd pot, I dilute, my airbrush is ready, I start and there, I cover it! after many tests, nothing to do, the paint was not sufficiently diluted and completely blocked the airbrush! Complete disassembly of the airbrush, cleaning with all solvents at my disposal, in short, I started my model by doing a proper cleaning and it paid off! What a pleasure to use an airbrush that works!! to see this first layer of wet effect on my B17!! that’s it, let’s go! After painting the crew ( for fun, because I know you will hardly see them), I started my assembly and collage… And then the trouble started… Everything went well until I tried to put together the two parts of the plane . Unable to reach them properly at the cabin level. Space most likely due to a poor assembly of the assembled parts at the cabin level. Yet the rest was fine… I didn’t want to take the pieces off again for fear of breaking them, so I still followed by gluing both parts together to hold them as close as possible and holding them with attached greenhouses. Not great when you look closely!! After the « decochage » …. There were, of course, the spaces not glued on the cabin. So, I said to myself, let’s be crazy! We’ll try to catch up with the super mastic! And here I am, rubbing it all over the top and under the bottom! Sanding just right! Well, the result is not really satisfactory!! I’m still going! Even if I tell myself that I will never get on this plane!

Préparation du masquage pour la peinture !! Scotch et produit de masquage pour les vitres. Le B17 est prêt pour ses couleurs !! J’ai, bien sûr, suivi les couleurs proposées et je me rends compte que le bleu n’est vraiment pas approprié.. ( erreur dans la peinture que j’ai utilisée !) Ensuite, le noir a coulé sur le jaune !!! Galère  ! Galère !! Voilà, j’ai terminé le B 17 et je ne suis pas du tout content du résultat !! il est vraiment très laid !! Depuis le début je n’ai rencontré que des soucis avec cette avion que je stockais chez moi depuis les calendes grecques !! Preparation of masking for paint!! Scotch and masking product for windows. Galère ! Galère! Well, I finished the B 17 and I am not at all happy with the result!! it is really very ugly! From the beginning I have only encountered problems with this plane that I stored at home since the Greek calends!

Je ne peux vraiment pas le laisser comme cela !! J’ai repassé du blanc sur l’ensemble de la maquette en ayant pour objectif de relooker mon B17 ( pas trop tout de même ) grâce au photo sur internet, j’ai pu faire mon choix. Je commence par le dessous qui n’est pas très top… Laisser en blanc avec une teinte à l’arrière qui n’est pas voulue ! Et voilà, finalement la meilleure partie de mon B17 après retouche  et vernissage comme il se doit !!Après les déboires tout du long, je suis content de l’avoir un peu sauvé du naufrage, ou plutôt du crash  !!! J’en retiens qu’il ne faut pas se décourager  !!!  A bientôt,  I really can’t leave him like that!! I’ve ironed white on the whole model having as objective to makeover my B17 ( not too much anyway ) thanks to the photo on the internet, I could make my choice. I start with the bottom which is not very top… Leave in white with a shade at the back that is not wanted! And here it is, finally the best part of my B17 after retouching and varnishing as it should! After the setbacks all along, I’m glad to have saved him from sinking, or rather crash! I learn that we should not be discouraged !! See you soon,
